Buying Paul McCartney tickets at Golden 1 Center is more difficult than it should be.

In case you’re thinking about buying Paul McCartney tickets at Golden 1 Center for the first concert at our new Kings Arena in Sacramento on October 4th, be aware you might face slight difficulties. First, presale tickets went on sale Thursday for Golden 1 customers. Since I am not an American Express customer nor a season ticket holder for King’s tickets, I could not participate in the previous presales of the week. A thought that did not escape me as I was about to embark on buying Paul McCartney tickets at Golden 1 Center.

Ticketmaster has a new warning on its website that if you open another browser window while processing a ticket choice, your existing browser window will disconnect. So much for the multiple-window approach. Early on in the day, prior to the presale time, I started checking out the third-party vendor sites for Paul McCartney tickets at Golden 1 Center, otherwise known as scalpers. I studied the seating chart and picked out the 4 places I would be willing to plant my butt during a Paul McCartney show.

Then I checked the prices. Yowsa. OK, two front row tickets in the floor section are selling for $5,000. Nope, not spending that kind of money. I imagine a corporation will snatch those. Individual tickets for the show, at regular Ticketmaster prices, sell between $49 and $250. Double or triple the highest price for the best seating is about as far as I will go. We all have our limits. The time and the frustration of buying Paul McCartney tickets at Golden 1 Center has a price tag.

I chose my preferred seating and then, at the stroke of high noon, signed on to Ticketmaster through the special link provided by Golden 1. I had my special code: LETITBE ready to go. Site popped up, I entered my code, and nothing. I worked on that site for 30 minutes, over and over, like a crazy person would do. Presale code did not work. Not in Safari, nor Firefox, nor Chrome. Finally, after 30 minutes, allowed through and there were no tickets. Thank you, Golden 1. You bought the naming rights to an entire arena, but your customers cannot receive presale priority much less belated presale authority.

Twitter blew up for a while. People complained on Facebook, but I already bought our tickets from a third party. It’s just not worth the hassle. However, yesterday, a second Paul McCartney show has been added for October 5th. The remaining tickets Paul McCartney tickets at Golden 1 Center will go on sale today, along with second-show tickets. Maybe the force be with you.
